A New Mountain

In July of 2024, I started shooting on digital
for the first time.  This journey has taught me that creative practice and artistry are about so much more than the seed of an idea or, in this case, simply having a good eye.

Sometimes, it’s just about showing up. Again and again and again and again. This has been a dive into the art of patience and balance and repetition and technicality and mechanics.

Showing someone their photo and seeing them light up brings me an internal warmth that feels like being on top of the world. Seeing something I photographed that strikes me as “beautiful” is a reminder that we are capable of generating the things we want to see and admire in a word that seems, more and more, to be optimizing for standing still.

I read something on Instagram earlier this evening that said “Good Artists Start Out as Bad Artists” and it brought a grin to my face.

I hope these photos bring a grin to yours.

xoxo
